This building was built by Charles Bruce in 1869 for Charles Wise’s Pinkley Tin Shop. It was known as the "White Corner" in the 1890’s. Soon after, the tin shop was moved to the back of the building, along Division Street, where it is today. In 1891 the Lewis brothers bought the building and turned it into a hardware store. In 1905, it was bought by Cruikshank and Kolln, but in 1933 the ownership went solely to Herman Kolln, and so it was for a long time known as Kolln Hardware, and a famous community landmark. Herman’s son Jack later took over the business, and sold it in 1983 when he retired.
